Qualified applicants will receive the training and skills necessary to advance along a career pathway to full-time employment in IT and cybersecurity occupations.
Whether you’re a veteran, military spouse or transitioning service member, the Georgia Cyber Center WorkForces Program is designed to help you as you embark into the next chapter of your life after the military. The WorkForces Program will work with individuals who meet these criteria to increase or refine skills in IT and cybersecurity with formal training and work-based learning programs to build resumes, enhance marketability and prepare you for full-time employment in middle/high skilled occupations for life after the military.
The WorkForces Program will assist veterans and military spouses who want to improve their family’s life after the military by providing in demand, full-time IT and cybersecurity opportunities. Through the Georgia Cyber Center WorkForces Program, you will receive the training and skills necessary to advance along a career pathway to full-time employment in IT and cybersecurity occupations right here in the CSRA community.
The Georgia Cyber Center WorkForces Program is funded by a grant from the Department of Labor devoted to the economic success of the CSRA community by reskilling and upskilling veterans and military spouses for information technology and cybersecurity opportunities throughout the area.
How It Works
Whether you’re an underemployed or unemployed veteran or military spouse, you are eligible to participate in the WorkForces Program at no cost. Transitioning service members are also eligible to enter the WorkForces program after their military exit date at no cost.
The WorkForces Program will take you through training phases so that you can improve the life of you and your family with career opportunities as you begin life outside the military.
The first step is to apply. In the WorkForces Program application platform, you will be provided information about IT/Cyber careers, program details, and submit eligibility documentation. After competition, qualified applicants will be contacted by a member of the WorkForces Program staff to move forward in the process.
The train up phase is where you immerse yourself in either your re-skill or up-skill program track. While refining or learning skills in IT and cybersecurity, you will also garner career readiness knowledge through workshops. The career readiness workshops provide you with a resume and interview skills as well as enhance your marketability for when you’re ready for full-time employment opportunities.
WORK BASED LEARNING PHASE
After completing the initial train up phase, as well as additional career readiness skills and workshops, the WorkForces Program begins the work based learning phase. Our growing network of employer partners receive participant resumes and skill sets and work with our team to explore potential employment and other work-based learning opportunities.
