The Georgia Cyber Center WorkForces Program is designed to help veterans and military spouses as they embark into the next chapter of their life after the military. The WorkForces Program will work with individuals who meet these criteria to increase or refine skills in IT and cybersecurity with formal training and work-based learning programs.
The WorkForces Program will assist veterans and military spouses who want to improve their family’s life after the military by providing in demand, full-time IT and cybersecurity opportunities. Through the Georgia Cyber Center WorkForces Program, these individuals will receive the training and skills necessary to advance along a career pathway to full-time employment in IT and cybersecurity occupations right here in the CSRA community.

The Georgia Cyber Center WorkForces Program is funded by a grant from the Department of Labor devoted to the economic success of the CSRA community by reskilling and upskilling veterans and military spouses for information technology and cybersecurity opportunities throughout the area. The Georgia Cyber Center WorkForces Program was created for veterans and military spouses to learn or refine their IT and cybersecurity skills for the vast IT sector opportunities right here in the CSRA. These veterans and their spouses have been a part of the CSRA and want to continue to grow and give back to the Augusta community by utilizing their IT and cybersecurity skills for local employers and their businesses.
- Work based learning placements allow for wage reimbursement of the employer for no less than 6 weeks and no more than 12 months
- Work based learning placements may be modeled as on-the-job training for an open/needed position, an apprenticeship program, internship or other work/learn experience
- Employers can grow the expertise they need to address their skill gaps while being provided wage-reimbursement to account for the resources and time necessary to mold & grow a fully qualified employee
- Based on successful work-based learning experience, employers will be expected to move participants into a permanent position
